This August, 2015, Lan-bridge is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Wuhan, the metropolois capital of Hubei province. The Wuhan office joins our network made up of eight other offices across China, an overseas office in London and a partner office in Stockholm. Our remaining eight offices in China are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Zhengzhou and Kunming. The combined population of the cities we are present in now totals an astounding 76 million people.
The new Wuhan office allows us to reach more new customers in China, where business is best done face to face. It also allows us to expand our linguist network and events business. The office is currently being jointly managed and set up by Lai Jianqing from the Chengdu office sales department and Zhu Manman, manager of the Zhengzhou office. From the office, Lan-bridge will be able to offer our high-quality translation and interpretation services to more even more clients in China. The city has a population comparable to London’s so we are sure that we will see plenty of opportunities for growth.
Wuhan is known as one of the three furnaces of China (along with Chongqing and Nanjing), but it’s also heating up in terms of development. In particular, thanks to its location on the Yangzte and rail and road networks stretching in all directions, Wuhan has developed into a major logistics hub. It has a good split of industry and services and is a focus of French investment in China. Britain opened a consulate in the city earlier this year, and it has long hosted an office of the China-Britain Business Council.
