Maximising your Brand Power with Sina Weibo (London, 22.06.2017)

Recently, Sina Weibo and Chinese Weekly teamed up to host a fascinating one day workshop on Weibo. A number of interesting and informative talks were given by variety of speakers at Central London’s Cocoon Networks.

Weibo is a Chinese platform less known than WeChat, however, in recent years it has made somewhat of a comeback as its separate and unique features have become more clearly defined and leveraged by Sina. The talks at this event had information relevant to a range of listeners, from beginners to more experienced China veterans.

Both the practical aspects of setting up Weibo accounts to general tips on how to create high-quality content were discussed. For example, Mark Hedley, senior advisor at the China-Britain Busines Council gave an informative overview of the Chinese market, whilst Fashion and make-up blogger Chen Yi (who currently has an online following of over 70 thousand) gave the audience a great insight into how KOLs operate.

Lan-bridge was privileged to be a part of this event by providing the simultaneous and consecutive interpretation that enabled the detailed speeches and Q & A session to run smoothly for both the English and Chinese speakers in attendance.

This event done an excellent job of promoting Weibo and reminding the attendees not only how indispensable it is as a platform, but also how valuable it is to know how to use this platform correctly.
