The Voice of Lan-bridge: Conference report (16/05/2017)

Lan-bridge was honoured to work with the 2017 Chengdu Innovation Summit.

The Chengdu Innovation Summit was held between the 10^th and the 12^th of May, 2017. Chengdu International Innovation and Entrepreneurs Fair (known as the Innovation Summit) was created by the Chengdu municipal government to promote the global technological revolution and industrial transformation, and promote a “permanent, international and national Chengdu brand”. This innovative business event has been held for two consecutive years, and this year, Chengdu’s position was stronger than ever. The theme of the conference was “Exchange wisdom and innovation, development and sharing”, and it aimed to promote global innovation and entrepreneurship, resources convergence, integration and docking, and new trends and achievements.

Lan-bridge Group had the honor of providing full-text translation, simultaneous interpretation, and consecutive interpretation for the intersection of the founding meeting and the following events within the summit: International Entrepreneurship Incubation Summit, News Centre and Interview Room, World-class Science and Technology Park Roundtable, Tianfu Grand Auditorium, and the technology and innovation forum of Israel’s University of Electronic Science and Technology.
1, International business Incubation Summit

The International Business Incubation Summit was held on the 10^th & 11^th May, 2017. Lan-bridge provided a full range of translation services for the summit, including consecutive interpretation for the China-Europe Centre’s launch ceremony of its China-Europe Center in Chengdu, simultaneous interpretation for the four sub-venues.

China – European Center Launch Ceremony

On May 10^th, the China – European Centre officially opened in Chengdu’s High-tech Zone. As the first comprehensive service platform for China’s cooperation in Europe,the China-Europe Centre is committed to building a comprehensive service platform for trade, investment and technical cooperation between western China and Europe. At the launch ceremony, held on the morning of May 10, Lan-bridge provided consecutive interpretation services.

2017 International Entrepreneurship Incubation Summit Opening Ceremony

On the morning of May 11^th, the opening ceremony of the 2017 International Entrepreneurship Incubation Summit was held by the China-Europe Centre. Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPCCC and premier of the State Council, congratulated the vice chairman of the CPPCC Governor Yin Li. Deputy Secretary of Chengdu Municipal Committee Mayor Luo Qiang attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Lan-bridge provided simultaneous interpretation services for this important event, for which it received praise from guests.

2, 2017 Interview with the press centre and key guests

This founding event brought together important people and attracted major media outlets; a number of Nobel Prize winners and other important guests were invited to the interview room to talk with the media. Lan-bridge provided three-days of multi-lingual interpretation, volunteers, escorting interpreters shorthand services for the press conference and interviews. We covered provided language services for people speaking English, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Korean.

3, The World – Streaming Science and Technology Park Union Roundtable and Summit

On the afternoon of May 10^th at the 2017 China Chengdu Global Innovation and Trade Fair, an important part of the 2017 world-class science and technology park alliance round table summit in Chengdu Hi-tech Zone International Convention Center held. The summit was held by the Ministry of Science and Technology Torch Centre and sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government. Chengdu High-tech Zone Management Committee chose “work together, pilot the future” as the theme of the summit.

Attended the summit held at the National Science and Technology Ministry Torch Centre in Chengdu were the relevant government departments for: Shanghai’s Zhangjiang, Shenzhen, Wuhan’s East Lake, Xi’an High-tech Zone, Hangzhou’s High-tech Zone, Suzhou Industrial Park and other domestic first-class science and technology park representatives.

Also in attendance were representatives from the following distinguished institutions: The Chinese Academy of Sciences Policy Research Institute , The Great Wall Institute of Strategic Studies, the French Sofia Science and Technology Park, Germany’s high-tech industrial park in Munich, Barcelona’s Innovation Industrial Park, the Amsterdam Science and Technology Park, Pune Technology Park, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Israel Haifa Science and Technology Park, Canada Montreal Science and Technology Park and other foreign science and technology parks.

Chinese and foreign guests discussed global high-tech industries, globalization, open and ecologically-friendly innovation, international exchanges and cooperation, and other issues. They  sharing their views and experiences at this first-class science and technology park.

Lan-bridge provided simultaneous interpretation and shorthand services for the conference, enabling delegates to communicate with each other and to construct a language bridge.

4, 2017 “Tianfu Large Auditorium” (fourth period)

On the afternoon of May 11^th, Tianfu Grand Auditorium was held. Organized by the Provincial Organization Department, this event was opened by the Professor of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University, Tom Coates, whose lecture was entitled “Bring innovation and entrepreneurship into the world”. Lan-bridge Group provided simultaneous interpretation services here.

5, University of Electronic Science and Technology’s (EMBA) establishment of the Israeli innovation and entrepreneurship forum

On the evening of May 13^th, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (which was jointly organized by the University of Electronic Science and Technology and the Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu) was held at the Shahe Campus of the University of Electronic Science and Technology. The forum invited three distinguished representatives from the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship in Israel to share their entrepreneurial stories and talk around the theme of “the success of Israel’s entrepreneurial secret”. Lan-bridge provided simultaneous interpretation services, winning the organizers’ praise.
